Iris began practicing yoga in 2004. She practiced Kundalini Yoga at Prana Mandir in New York City with Lea Kramer, Hari Kaur Khalsa, and Shanti Shanti Kaur. Yoga became second nature to her since she had trained in the martial arts for 13 years. Learning about and practicing yoga allowed her to introduce asana to her young karate students at Hoover Karate Academy in the Lehigh Valley. Along with teaching karate for three years, Iris taught Kundalini yoga classes regularly at Easton yoga & Lehigh Valley Yoga.

Living a vegetarian lifestyle is very important to Iris. She has found that since she adopted this lifestyle in 2004 her body, mind, and spirit have finally come happily together. She has a dear love for animals and this year has become vegan. Being vegan means to her she is not harming another life for her satisfaction. We can all do our own little thing, whatever it may be, to help clean this earth and help create peace. For Iris being vegan is that thing.

Today, Iris lives in Philadelphia with her boyfriend Kevin and their two dogs, Penelope Chai and Paul Chocolate. They love going for long walks and to the park like all dogs. They also are yoga dogs and practice their “doga” daily.

This winter Iris plans to continue her yoga education with vinyasa training at Dhyana Yoga in Philadelphia. She also has a great interest in Art & Art History and will be graduating from Tyler School of Art this year.
