Meet Shannon Morehouse M.A., AADP
Holistic Health Counselor and Sports Nutrition Coach
Shannon Morehouse (formerly Martin )founded ShannonLynn Nutrition in October 2002 after extensive academic and practical work in nutrition, public health issues, and holistic health counseling. A graduate of SUNY-Binghamton with double honors in English, Literature and Rhetoric and Sociology, Shannon received a Masters degree in medical sociology from Temple University and received holistic health counseling certification at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Prior to starting her own practice as a holistic health counselor, nutritionist, and wellness consultant, she conducted research for the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Center for Children in Poverty at Columbia University's School of Public Health.
Shannon's practice includes counseling individuals, groups and corporations, and families on how to incorporate sound nutritional practices into their daily lives. She also uses her background to recommend lifestyle changes that will help her clients achieve their wellness goals. A frequent lecturer on holistic health topics in academic settings, corporations, and fitness centers throughout the country, Shannon has expanded her practice to include integrated physical training and nutrition programs, wellness retreats, and training programs to prepare clients for athletic events. To date, Shannon has helped over 3000 people reach their health and wellness goals.
Shannon is currently enhancing her nutrition education and keeping abreast with cutting-edge nutritional research with coursework at Huntington College of Health Sciences. She is also a writer, researcher, and fact checker for the award-winning Best Life magazine. Additionally, she covers professional running news for New York Road Runners.
