Tai Chi is a gentle form of Chinese exercise designed to exercise the entire body and create a sense of inner well being, promoting health and healing from within. .

Yang Style Tai Chi is popular world wide for its gentle movements and concentration on balance and strength.

The Yang Style Long Form (108) takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete and helps to tone muscles and increase flexibility. It also promotes mind body connections and inner peace with its fluid movements and yielding motion.

Through this class, which emphasizes both group and individual instruction, you will become proficient in the movements of the form and be ready to practice independently or in a practice group setting.

Tai Chi Teachers:

Jim Matthewson has been a Tai Chi practitioner since 1997, having been introduced to the art at Little Tiger Tai Chi in Allentown, Pa. During his time with Little Tiger he received several awards including recognition for Long Term Commitment and Dedication. He is trained in traditional Yang Style Long Form, 32 Step Sword Form and Tai Chi Fan Form.  In addition, Jim has basic knowledge in Qigong and Stretching techniques.


Jim has attended seminars with Grand Master Duan (Master Tai Chi Instructor, China,) Sifu Jiang Jian-ye (Master Tai Chi Instructor, New York), Master William Ting (Master Tai Chi Instructor, New Jersey)  and Don Ethan Miller (National Tai Chi sparring Champion).  Currently he is working with Master Ping Zhao on perfecting numerous modern combined forms.


Jim has been teaching Tai Chi at Third Street Alliance for Woman & Children in Easton since June, 2002, providing instruction to novice through advanced students in small classes. In addition he is currently teaching at Lehigh Valley Hospital.


In 2005 Jim became a fully certified TAI CHI from the Arthritis Foundation Leader and is a professional member of the American Tai Chi Association.
